Great improvement. That third line with Bjug and Horny was one of the few bright spots last year, causing havoc every shift.

Having a second functional D pair is gonna help a lot. Also agree that third pair is not playing unfortunately. Sullivan pulled this several times last year aswell, rotating JJ during practice but come game time he was always there with Schultz. Im just hoping that if he plays he's at least not on the second pair.

All eyes will be on Pens tonight. Win and all is forgiven. Lose and be prepared for the ensuing meltdown.

Playing a back to back on the second game of the season isn’t a big deal. It could actually be a plus.

Considering the first game, why is Hornqvist getting moved off PP1? Jake did nothing in the first game (5v5 nor PP), and at least Hornqvist played a crucial role the only goal of the game that was scored. I love Jake! But Horny's value on the PP is immense. It's like Dino Ciccarelli or Holmstrom, and I honestly believe that Hornqvist is still better than the latter (Ciccarelli had better hands IMO).

What’s your perspective on Kahun so far? I see he’s playing on the 4th line tonight.

Nope! We need every competent defenseman we can get our hands on.

Let me tell you about this little known player named Jack Johnson, he'd surely be a help and we'd be will to listen to trade offers for him. He may be benched today, but it's not because of his play, I know why though. It's no worry to the Hawks. /s

Hmmm... you throw in a bag of magic beans and we got a deal.

But, if we do take JJ off your hands - then what becomes of this blog? Every good drama needs a conflict.

Disappointing, has been invisible. Was he just getting lucky pointwise or should we expect him to start using his speed to create something eventually?

I don’t think he was getting lucky last year, he worked pretty hard and always seemed to be bird-dogging. He can be separated from the puck easily, but never seemed to back down.

Maybe he’s still trying to fit into his role? Has he been used exclusively on the 4th line or has he been deployed elsewhere?

Remember when Drew Doughty sucked because he couldn't even do 1 pull-up (or was it a chin-up)?

He was used all over the place in camp starting on the top line. 1st game he played 3rd line. So far, we've seen nothing hard working about his game which is surprising.

Maybe he just isn't comfortable, but he's not even noticable.

I've been disappointed in his skating, but I hate to bury him so soon.
